PART TIME / PAID-ON-CALL POSITIONS
The Wauconda Fire Department places Part Time / Paid-On-Call personnel on the department every 2 years. The next hiring will be in the fall of 2009.
If you are interested in becoming a Part Time / Paid-On-Call Firefighter / EMT you may obtain an application from the administrative secretary weekdays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Your name will then be added to a list and you will be notified in writing prior to the testing dates.
All interested parties must reside within the Village of Wauconda or the Wauconda Fire Protection District. You must be 18 years of age or older and be capable of performing the duties of a firefighter and EMT-B. You must have a valid Illinois drives license. You must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
If selected, you will be given a conditional offer of employment and placed on probation for one and one half years. During that time you must successfully complete the required training for both firefighter and EMT-B. Other requirements must also be met by all Part Time / Paid-On-Call personnel. These requirements will be explained at a mandatory orientation which is part of the testing process.
